Final Exam. Extra Credit.

Part 1.
Mark Quah was set fire after he tried to stop a protesters from destroying his business because protesters boycotted buying overpriced products that he sales.

Lily Rivera was wait for her friend in the car when a black african american man drove up and start shooting into the vehicle that Lily was in. Lily died instantly from two bullets to the face.

Melly the rhinoceros was transported to Animal Recuse League after she collapsed and couldn't get up. When at the shelter they discovered she was pregnant and was soon to have her baby they find out there were complications with her birth and she need help.

Part 2.
1. Balance is in this first photo and also simplicity because all the bike riders are together making it balance and the background behind them is black like there are no trees or clouds or anything of that sort making this photo simplicity.

2.  This photo has lines and avoiding mergers and even rule of third. Because the runners are running in straight lines that are marked on the ground. Rule of third because everything is right in this photo. Its is avoiding mergers for sure because everything that is happening in this photo.

3. This photo is simplicity because the background...well there is no background just the sky behind him and so that makes this photo simplicity.

4. this photo is definitely cropping and framing because they little monkey on her is focused and the girl isn't so to me that tells me that this photo is cropping and framing.

Extra Credit.

1. Explain what happened to the man that was killed by the subway and how the photographer was able to take the photo.
The man was killed by an unidentified man who had shoved the man in front of the subway cart.
And the photographer happened to be there with his camera.

2. Why did the photographer say he took the photo? To stop the stop so that the man operating the subway cart could stop in time so they could help the man but it was to late and the man Ki Suk Han was crushed.

3. Do you think the photographer should have taken the photo?
Well he was trying to stop the train so yes he attest attempted to stop the train but he could have also ran to get the man out.

4. Do you think the photographer did the best thing he could have done in this situation? Why or why not?
No he could of did more to help then flash his camera like ran over to the man that needed help.

5. Do you agree or disagree with the decision to run the photo on the front page of the New York Post? Explain why or why not.
I disagree with posting this photo on the news paper this helpless man was seconds from dying and died the newspaper company shouldn't have printed this picture.

6. What is more important to a photojournalist, capturing images of life as it happens or stopping bad things from happening? Why or why not?
Stopping bad things from happening cause capturing on camera shows what kind of person you are cause you let this man die and you did nothing and all you have to show for it is this picture when he could have had enough time to stop and help the helpless man out the tracks.
7. Do you think it is ever ethically acceptable for a photographer to involve himself/herself in a situation that he or she photographs? Explain why or why not.
Yes in this case because the man was feet away and could have done something other then flash his camera but i mean things happen in instant.
      8. Should photojournalists always avoid influencing events as they happen? Explain your answer.
No they shouldn't avoid i mean if they can help somebody thats in endanger then why not put the camera down and offer to help.
9. After reading the responses from the professional photographers, what stands out as the most appropriate response for a photographer to this situation.

Self Portrait

Take a picture in gym a classmate will take of me at the gym and "Akins Eagles" will be in the back of me and i will be pointing it will be a casual portrait with avoiding merges.

Portraits

1. Self portraits are tough for a number of reasons; you can’t see yourself to know how you look until after the fact.
2. Most common mistake made by photographers is that they are not physically close enough to their subjects.

Environmental Portrait
You can see the pain in his eyes like theirs a story behind why he's living how he's living.

The Three Pillars of Exposure: Aperture, ISO, Shutter Speed

High Shutter Speed

At the beginning while the sun is still partially up and the courtyard has reasonable light
a.) the dunking booth
b.) the food eating contest
c.) the rock climbing wall
d.) someone working at a booth
e.) the DJ/MC working at the middle of the circle
f.) the Diamonds performance.

Towards the end when there is no sun and has gotten dark enough that you can't see from one end of the courtyard to the other.
a.) the dunking booth
b.) the food eating contest
c.) the rock climbing wall
d.) someone working at a booth
e.) the DJ/MC working at the middle of the circle
f.) the Diamonds performance.
Slow Shutter Speed

“Aperture Priority"you set the lens aperture, while the camera automatically sets the shutter speed.

“Shutter Priority”where you set the shutter speed and the camera automatically selects the aperture.

“Manual” where you set both shutter speed and aperture manually.

ISO 200

ISO 3200

ISO 6400

1. What are the advantages of shoot at a higher ISO at a sporting event like basketball or a night football game?
The higher the ISO and shooting it at night the picture will becoming more clear.
2. What suggestions did the author make about using a low ISO?
Is on low ISO is at a high speed pace.
3. What suggestions did the author make about using a high ISO?
Is on high ISO is at a low speed pace.

  • F4 - 1/250 (The background is blurry)
  • F5.6 - 1/60 (The background is less blurry)
  • F8 - 1/60 (The background is less blurry)
  • F11 1/60 (The background id more clear)
  • F16 1/30 (It's the same the background)
  • F22 1/8 (The background is more clear and blurry)
At slow shutter speed people are blurry.
An higher shutter speed will solve the problem.
The lowest shutter speed is 1/40.
  •

1. What part of the body should we closely relate aperture?

adds a dimension to a photograph by blurring the background, or magically brings everything in focus.

2. Finish this sentence - the smaller the Aperture f- stop means a larger aperture, the higher the Aperture larger f-stop means a smaller aperture.

3. In your own words tell me how aperture impacts Depth of Field?the size of the aperture has a direct impact on the depth of field,

"Caption Writing: 5 Ws and H."

Abu Ghraib sending U.S. after the release the person in the photo is showing what there getting abused in this picture. Abuse in prisms very cruel. they need help to stop this from continuing  in other countries.

"Great Black and White Photographers Part 3"

The first thing that caught my attention in the first photo is the naturalness of what is going on in that exact moment when it caught my attention.

I see a guy with a camera.

I smell the stinch of gargbe.

I hear the sound of a flash and cars horns.

I taste the air of pizza.

I feel uncomfortable  with this guy taking a picture of us,.
I see two wonmen walking outside there beautiful.

I smell good wood in the place.

I hear their chatting and laughing.

I taste my finger their to absolutely to perfect.

I feel eggered to go talk to them but im to nervous to cause the sight of them is stunning.

3.I think I'd like to do a poster with different pictures of the whole year.

Mural Project Preview

1. The mural we should do is a concert theme. where bright colors and dark colors are being displayed. Make people think if they were to take a picture of a concert that what it would look like it time stood still.

2. If you've ever gone to a concert with the crowd is just into the music they just can't stop dancing and singing to one of there favorite artist.

3. My iPhone takes pretty good pictures either way that whole concert feel should be in the photo. Disadvantage focus can be off.

4. Their would be a lot of advantages that could help make this mural feel like a real concert theme.
Disadvantages that it won't make the mural feel like a concert people might not want to go.

I just went to a concert and it was awesome on a whole another level.

Academics Shoot Reflection

  1. It was very hard to take the photo of "Rule of Third".
  2. The technical aspect that made me thinking about the most, was that the focus was on point, because maybe i was shooting the best photo ever, but if the focus wasn't on point i couldn't!
  3. If i was to do the assignment over i would try to capture a better Framing, Rule of Third, and Avoiding Mergers.
  4. I would take the same photos for Lines and Balance
  5. Lines and Balance were very easy to capture.
  6. Rule of Third was very hard to capture.
  7. Nothing to be honest. It was only hard to capture photos.

Black and White

My reaction to Black and white powerpoint was their really good photos taking everything with balancing the black in white was good.

I thought this photo was pretty good i like elephants and the picture of him is awesome and the balance is pretty awesome as well.

Nick Brandt shoots exclusively in Africa and is one of the world’s most prolific wildlife photographers. His amazing black and white images of elephants, lions, and cheetahs can be found in galleries and private collections all over the world. He uses a Pentax 67II with only two fixed lenses. He loves animals and he wanted to catch the spirit, personality of the animal.

Best Emotion

Filling the frame
The picture of the girl is centered seeing people in the background like its a full picture.

1. I picked this photo because it looks pretty bad as the coloring the photographer is great.
2. Filling the frame and would of been my best story.
